How do I recall books?

You can recall books that are currently charged to other patrons by displaying the record for the book in OPAC and clicking on the “Request” button. The current borrower will be notified automatically, and will have 3 days to finish with and return the book, after which time you will be notified that the book is available for you to pick up within 7 days.

I got a recall notice. What is that?

Recalls (or request) are a way for the library to ensure that all borrowers have equal access to its print resources. If a book you need is checked out, you may recall it from the current borrower , who will have 3 days to finish with it and return it. Conversely, if someone needs a book you have checked out, they may recall it from you, and you will receive a notice letting you know that you must return the book within 3 days.

How do I reserve an item?

If you see, from OPAC, that an item is on loan (Checked-out), you can use the ‘Request’ button on the screen to reserve it for your use. The person who has borrowed it will be sent a notice requesting its return, and you will be e-mailed when the item is available for collection.

If you proceed with clicking the Request button and this message appears “Your request was not processed. Please contact a librarian. Diagnostics: 4036.”, it means the book is NOT loan out and is still available in the Library.
