About Us

In promoting a world class digital environment for open and distance learning, the library’s role is to support teaching, learning, and research requirements via virtual learning and to enhance information skills among the learning community.

Our History
On the 24th February 2004 was marked as a significant event for Open University Malaysia (OUM) as the Digital Library was officially named the Tan Sri Dr. Abdullah Sanusi Digital Library. The launching and naming of the library is to honour the late Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Haji Abdullah Sanusi Ahmad, founder, President and Vice-Chancellor of OUM, who have bequeathed the University his extraordinary vision and leadership. OUM was honoured with the gracious presence of YB Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Musa bin Mohamad, Minister of Education Malaysia who officiated the event.

The digital library collection comprises a wide range of resources in print and online formats in support of the virtual and open distance learning concept. Physically, we have more than 12,000 volumes of books located at the Central Library and Regional Centres.

On the digital part, we have online databases consisting of Electronic Books (e-books) and Electronic Journal (e-journal). E-books enable learners to read, make notes and annotations online, while e-journal could be used to search for articles from scholarly journals worldwide. To date, the digital library has access to more 45,000 titles from e-books and 50,000 titles from e-journal databases. The available databases cover all courses offered by OUM. We are located at Ground Level, OUM Campus, Jalan Tun Ismail 50480 Kuala Lumpur.
